Wordle: dataRemote access to hundreds of full text magazines, newspapers, newswire sources, reference books, maps and historical images are available to faculty, staff and students of WWS. Access to these requires a login and/or password which may be picked up in the library or found on Edline.

Newspapers/Magazines

  Chicago Tribune & Illinois Newspapers
      Complete full-text content of local and regional news, including community events, schools, politics,  
      government policies, cultural activities, local companies, state industries, and people in the community       from 1996 to present. Paid advertisements are excluded.

  E-Library
      More than 2,500 full-text magazines, newspapers, reference books, transcripts and even pictures,
      maps, weblinks and audio/video files.

  ProQuest Platinum
      Comprehensive coverage of general interest magazines and specialized journals; full text newspapers       including The New York Times and Wall Street Journal; extensive body of image material; World Book       Encyclopedia.

  First Search
       A collection of databases offering hundreds of full text periodicals and authorative Internet sites. On the        navagation bar, click on the "Databases" tab. For most searches, click on the checkboxes next to
       "PerAbs" and "WilsonSelectPlus." Click "Select" at either the top or bottom of the screen. Type in your        search keywords.

Encyclopedia

  Encyclopedia Britannica/English version (Spanish version)
       Full-text encyclopedia articles with links to magazines, videos and websites.

Pro/Con Issues

  CQ Researcher
       The CQ Researcher explores a single “hot” issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from        social and teen issues to environment, health, education and science and technology. There are 44

       Full-text journal articles, literary criticism, reviews, biographical information, and overviews on over
       130,000 writers in all disciplines, from all time periods and from around the world.

  NoveList
      A fiction book database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more
      for over 125,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author       Read-Alikes, What We’re Reading, Book Discussion Guides, Book Talks, and Annotated Book Lists.

       A vast amount of wellness information on many topics relative to current issues for students including        an interactive Health Risk Appraisal covering nineteen specific areas.

  Teen Health & Wellness (Rosen Publishing)
       Database that focuses on the medical health and emotional needs of teenagers.
