Course Descriptions

Men’s Chorale - (I) Non-sequential One Semester
Grades 9,10,11,12
Prerequisite: None

In existence since 1991, this class is open to ALL young men grades 9-12. It not only serves as our freshmen boys’ choir, but also as a “second” choir for many boys from Chamber, Concert, and Show Choirs. The group has received ALL Division I Superior ratings at IHSA contest, as well as standing ovations at nearly every performance. The camaraderie is great, the repertoire fun, and choral technique, sight-reading, and musicianship are learned in an enjoyable fashion. 4-5 concerts per year, participation at IHSA contests. Meets requirement for a Performing Arts credit.

JV Women’s Chorale - (I) Non-sequential One semester
Grades 9, 10, 11, 12
Prerequisite: None

This choir numbers from 60 - 70 girls, performs 4-5 programs per year, participates in choral clinics, and serves as a building choir for more advanced participation. This group is open to girls of all levels freshman through senior. Emphasis is on development of choral technique, musicianship, and sight-reading. Repertoire ranges from popular to classical to folk music. Freshman girls may register for this class when entering high school. Private vocal study by members is encouraged. Meets a Performing Arts requirement.
