DVC SCHOLASTIC BOWL
OPERATING PROCEDURES

Section 1. SEASONAL LIMITATION
A. Practice shall begin at the discretion of the coach at each school. IHSA terms and conditions shall apply.

Section 2. SCHEDULE
A. The conference schedule will consist of a single round robin schedule.
B. Postponed meets shall be rescheduled at the earliest date convenient to the host school with consent of the visiting school.

Section 3. LEVELS OF COMPETITION
A. Official competition will be at the varsity level only. Schools may choose to hold JV competitions at individual contests if the two schools are in agreement. Varsity and JV competitions can consist of freshmen through seniors.

Section 4. CONTEST MANAGEMENT
A. Both schools are responsible for providing lights as approved by the DuPage Valley Conference coaches.
B. The host school shall provide two stop watches and a set-up (chalkboard or overhead projector) for displaying the scores of the match.
C. The host school shall provide pencils and scratch paper.
D. The host school shall provide a scorekeeper and timers.
E. The meets shall be governed by the official rules included in the IHSA Scholastic Bowl State Tournament Terms and Conditions.
F. A team shall forfeit any match in which they fail to provide at least one player.
G. An on-site rules committee composed of all coaches who do not have a vested interest in any dispute that arises shall be formed at round robin meets and the conference tournament.

Section 5. CHAMPIONSHIP DETERMINATION
A. A conference championship is determined by the team winning the most matches during the regular season and conference tournament. In case of a tie, there will be co-champions.

Section 6. CONFERENCE TOURNAMENT
A. The conference tournament will be scheduled no later than the Saturday preceding the IHSA Regional. It will be a seeded single elimination tournament.
B. A plaque will be awarded to the winning team. Medals will be given to each member of the winning team. Ribbons will be given to each member of the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
C. In order to play in the conference tournament, a player must have been a designated team member for one half of the conference meets.
D. Coaches will vote on an all conference team at the conference tournament. Certificates will be given to each member of the all conference team.

Section 7. COACHES MEETING
A. A coaches meeting will be held preceding the regular season.
